Sample Instructional Calendar

Two sample calendars are presented below. Both maintain 180 instructional days organized into 3 learning periods of 12 instructional weeks (60 days each), with one teacher workday/assessment day at the close of each learning period. All non-instructional periods, holidays, and breaks are consistent with standard Virginia school division observances unless otherwise coordinated with the applicable partner division.

This document uses hypothetical calendar dates for future planning purposes. Sora is committed to working collaboratively with any Virginia partner school division to finalize an instructional calendar that fully satisfies the applicable division's academic calendar requirements, including any division-specific instructional day requirements, grading period structures, reporting timelines, and enrollment policies. Final calendar adoption will be subject to mutual agreement and approval by the partner division.
